"The foundation of the School of Emergency Management was established by Order No. B/49 of the Minister of Public Security on January 3, 1990, which created a one-year professional firefighter training course within the structure of the Police Higher School of the Ministry of Public Security."
The Department of Economics and Resource Management was established within the School of Emergency Management by Order No. A/166 of the Minister of Justice and Internal Affairs on October 6, 2014, with a structural staff consisting of a Professor, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer, and Lecturers. The department officially commenced its academic activities following the appointment of the Head of Department and faculty members by Order No. B/397 of the President of the Law Enforcement University on July 6, 2015.
Historically, the management of state resources in Mongolia developed based on the experience of the Soviet Union and the knowledge of veteran specialists. However, there was a significant need to develop resource studies on a scientific basis and to prepare specialized professional personnel. This necessity became the fundamental reason for establishing the Department of Economics and Resource Management within the School of Emergency Management at the University of Internal Affairs.
The department currently plans and implements over 40 courses across the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral programs of the School of Emergency Management. Of these, 26 types of core and specialized professional courses are organized as classroom-based instruction.
